What do you take in your day pack?

A few things I take with me on a day hunt include: Tp paper (cant go with out!) Gut knife (pre sharpened) Chap stick, extra ammo, camera, munchies, lighter or matches, flashlight, walkie talkie, ear warmers, warm gloves, GPS, and hunter orange. If just going on a day hunt don't over pack your bag with needless things. But always carry just enough so if something bad happens and you need to spend the night on the mountain. Remember always think warm! Its hunting season, it gets cold at night and could snow. Also try and make sure you know where you are going and tell someone not at camp, so if need be someone can come find you. Think safety so you can bring home that big buck ^.^  Happy hunting!

Relaxing!

Spent a weekend out on the boat with the hubby and.....no kids! Ok fishing, caught two keepers and some smaller throw back ones. I laugh every time we get a small one, hoping that it has that 2,000$ tag on it! Strawberry has treated us good this year. Lots of down time till wood cutting and hunting season. I cant wait to get on the mountain and really start looking for deer!
Few things we will be taking in the new camera and hopefully a new GPS by that time. Maybe we will take the gun and get some coyotes while out looking. Happy Hunting!

Thing About Guns

I know most of have been taught about guns. I remember growing up and finding out where my dad had his. They where under the bed on his side. No we didn't touch them but I knew they where there. Things get a lil crazy now and then and people forget their "gun manners" I was one of them. After the deer hunt I thought I unloaded my 7mm. A year later I went to clean it and get it ready for the next hunt to only find, to my surprise, that I still had three bullets in the gun. I was so mad that I did such a stupid thing with three boys in my home. I've always thought of myself as a responsible gun owner until that day. Now I re check and triple check before I even put the gun in its case.

I have to remind myself that it is a tool and all tools need to be taken care of. Please always make sure that it is put up, ammo locked up, and out of site to keep lil ones fingers away. Happy Hunting ladies! Keep those family's of yours safe!

http://deerfairyoutfits.com/ Delaney Mock Short Sleeve is one that I own and love it! Its very light weight. The high collar makes it nice for when under trees you don't end up with stuff down your neck. Its sleek enough that you can wear under another shirt and it wont bunch or drive you crazy.
First off I would like to know where you are from and what you hunt. I'm from Utah and hunt mostly Mule Deer. I've always loved hunting but got started late. The wonderful man I am with today let me follow my passion and helped me get to where I am today. All year from the time I put in for the draw I'm always super excited to find out where we will be going! My first year hunting I got "skunked". Nothing but does, but that's ok it was still awesome! Second year I got my tag and got the beautiful 4 point i proudly have in my house. I now have my oldest son hunting and I am a very proud mom for how he handled getting "skunked" his first year. This year we both have tags and I'm waiting, fingers and toes crossed, to get that mother son pic with both our deer! Only three months away!

New Beginning!

Hey everyone! Being a new blogger I hope you all "bear" with me!I am a mom of three boys and love everything outdoors. No Im not the pretty pin up type huntress, but not all of us are, we are moms that take care of our family in the off season. I just want other moms to know that there other moms who share the same passion in hunting. I will be finding tips and things to do while on the hunt with your family's. Food ideas, what to do to keep the lil ones happy, tips on what to use on the hunt. So if any of you have ideas and tips please feel free to share! Remember this is a family page, lets keep it PG! Thank you I look forward to hearing from all the mommy hunters out there!  Connie
