Cleaning, Storing, and Gun Safety

Being a mom and having guns in the house is always a big worry. Always keep in mind that kids will find anything! Please always make sure that your guns are stored away from the amo. Always put trigger locks on, and lock in a safe place. Teach your kids about the dangers of guns. A child who is taught about the hazards of a gun is more likely not to touch it then a child who has no idea what a gun can do. Another thing that helps, even younger children, is some type of hunters safety. My 9 year old and 5 year old know the rules. They may not know as much as my 12 year old but they know not to touch with out me or dad there.
Lets think safe, keep our family safe from harm so we can have them around for more family hunts!

When cleaning your gun always always unload it first. Yes common sense but people have had incidents where they forgot. Make sure you do it in an open area. Have everything ready and covered in case of a spill. Hoppes has always been my choice only because my Dad used it. There is many different types you can choose from. Also remember that you need to get the kit that fits the type of gun you are cleaning. A kit for a .22 revolver wont work on a .22 riffle. Shot gun kits wont work on bigger riffles. Anyway just be sure to get the kit for your gun.

Here is a quick link for you to look at! I think it should help     http://www.hoppes.com/cat_cleaning_kits.html
